India is an IT nation. By now it is almost impossible to find a job in rural Jharkhand that will secure a living without computer skills. Young people are in particular need of computer skills in order to qualify for vocational training. In addition, the submission of important documents and applications of all kinds to the authorities is increasingly being offered online – which is a major step in the fight against corruption. Submitting applications and documents online, however, is an insurmountable hurdle for most people in rural Jharkhand. Asha Vihar therefore offers courses our computer school..
The Computer School
The Computer School was established in 2015 on the Asha Vihars campus. Thanks to a generous donation 10 new computers were purchased. Up to twenty students per course are now taught by a trained computer teacher. The courses offered range from beginner‘s courses to training in common office programs, accounting applications, as well as web design.
Internet courses
A life without a smartphone is no longer imaginable, even in rural areas. No matter how poor the rural population, the mobile phone is a must. With the smartphone, the Internet has come into the villages, but hardly anyone knows how to deal with it or recognizes the dangers that it brings along. But in addition to the dangers, the Internet is also a great help. Whether it‘s the search for reliable information in the network, the downloading and uploading of important documents, or the handling of personal data: Asha Vihar guides the course participants with specific assistance to move competently and securely on the Internet.

With a donation of
16 $ you enable one of the children from the surrounding villages to attend a basic internet course at our computer school.
With a donation of
24 $ you enable a teenager to participate in a 6-month course in accounting applications.
With a donation of
32 $ you enable a teenager 12 months of training in web development programs, e.g. HTML, Coral Draw and Photoshop.
With a donation of
180 $ per year ($ 15 per month) you can become a sponsor for our computer school and make an important contribution to covering the monthly salary of $ 180 for our computer teacher.
