THE SATELLITE STATIONS
BASIC MEDICAL SUPPLY OUTSIDE OF ASHA VIHAR
In 2012, after years of preparation, the first two satellite stations were opened in remote villages. There are four already. They work like branches and provide basic medical care. Additional medical care needs are treated at the parent company, Asha Vihar. The rising number of patients and the planned opening of the fifth satellite station prove their necessity. The stations are operated by us several days a week. Up to 80 patients are treated there each day. The premises are provided by the village community free of charge and so only costs for the operation and care of the stations arise.
WHICH MEDICAL CARE WE PROVIDE
Our school physician, our homeopathic doctor, an acupuncturist and a nurse drive to the satellite stations. This combination has been proven in recent years to provide all patients the best possible treatment in the smallest space available. The doctors have a basic set of medicines, so that the patients can be taken care of immediately. Physiotherapists are absolutely necessary to ensure widespread treatment, especially for older patients.
WHO WE WANT TO REACH
We want to reach all those who can not manage the long journey to our clinic on their own or who can not afford the treatment costs in another hospital. These are mostly elderly or families with children. We need your support to expand this project, as well as to staff it better.
WHAT WE STILL NEED
We need donations for an ambulance and further staff for patients who need to be transported in a lying position. Also, a small mobile lab is right at the top of our urgency list to ensure better diagnostics and more effective therapies. Please support us!
