New orphans in Asha Vihar
Von Asha Vihar
30 June 2016

Again and again, mothers, fathers, or other family members come to Asha Vihar and ask us to take one or more of their children. The reason is almost always the same: impoverishment due to death or serious illness of one parent, sometimes of both parents. The family, which was previously poor, slips into extreme poverty. Specifically, the death or serious illness of one or both parents means that it is no longer possible for the remaining or healthy parent to earn enough money to provide adequate nutrition for the children. Not to mention the health care and education of the children. Instead of attending school, the children also have to work to enable the family to survive.

Thanks to regular and generous donations from Germany, we can take care of orphans again and again in Asha Vihar and give these children a new future and a new home.

Our admission criteria always depend on the individual situation of the child: full orphans have priority; Health status, living conditions and the age of the children are also important. In order to get to know each of the children’s individual circumstances, we visited 23 children in their hometowns in June, talked to them, their families and their neighbors, and made us a picture in person.

We then decided to take in seven new children.
Both our employees and our “old” children are enthusiastic about the “newcomers” and have received them lovingly, caring and enthusiastic.
We are happy about this wonderful, big patchwork family. Welcome Kajal, Sureika, Komal, Rupashree, Baldev, Purmina and Prathiba! S picture.

And we are happy that you, dear donors, are giving the children a new, happy future. Many Thanks!
